Job description
We're seeking an experienced, technically strong IT Support Engineer to backfill a team member for an 11-month fixed-term assignment. This onsite role sits within a small, high-performing TS MLL team supporting manufacturing and R&D environments in a heavily regulated medical devices setting. The role focuses on high-quality resolution of ServiceNow tickets for manufacturing and lab applications, and participation in IT project activities such as installing and qualifying new systems and apparatus., * Triage, investigate and resolve ServiceNow requests related to manufacturing and laboratory applications (software installation, application troubleshooting, communication/connectivity issues).
- Liaise with application vendors, internal application technical teams and infrastructure support to achieve resolutions and escalations when required.
- Produce clear, accurate written records for all activities (incident notes, change control entries, validation records). Strong English spelling and grammar required.
- Participate in qualification and commissioning of new manufacturing and R&D computer systems and equipment (installation, configuration, verification/validation support).
- Work within regulated processes: follow application change control, computer system validation practices and applicable medical device compliance standards.
- Collaborate with local onsite colleagues and global J&J teams as needed to coordinate fixes and projects.
- Maintain a focus on the quality of work and risk-based decision making rather than ticket throughput; handle complex multi-party issues and identify appropriate stakeholders to drive resolution., * A focused, hands-on role with emphasis on quality and compliance in a mission-critical environment.

Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, * Minimum ~6 years IT support experience (or equivalent demonstrable experience).
- Fluent English - excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong desktop support for Windows 10/11.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Server environments (all supported MS Server versions).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts at client-to-server level (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VLANs, ports).
- Comfortable working within a heavily regulated environment and following formal change control/validation procedures.
- Good problem solving and stakeholder management skills - able to identify the right contacts and drive cross-team solutions.
- Educated to A-level or degree level (or equivalent experience).
Desirable skills & qualifications
- Experience with Linux/RHEL 8.5+ (benefit, not essential).
- Familiarity with Dell and/or Lenovo hardware support (minimal hardware tasks expected).
- Industry certifications: MCITP preferred; MCSE/MCSA/MCDST acceptable alternatives.
- ITIL v2 or v3 Foundation certification highly desirable.
- Some knowledge of computer system validation and application change control.
- Project management exposure (PRINCE2 or similar) is a plus.
