Senior SAP Enterprise Architect - Manufacturing

You will work closely with business and technical teams to turn manufacturing requirements into scalable, high-quality SAP solutions that support operational excellence and future growth. This role is based in Belgium (Antwerp)., 1. SAP & Enterprise Architecture Leadership

• Design and maintain SAP-centric enterprise architectures covering application, integration, data, and technology layers.
• Lead the design of S/4HANA templates, global rollouts, and modernization initiatives.
• Establish architecture standards, patterns, and governance processes that guide development and implementation teams.
• Act as Design Authority & Custodian of the solution
• Ensure consistent integration across SAP, MES/MOM, PLM, SCADA, and other manufacturing systems.

2. Manufacturing Process & System Alignment

• Translate manufacturing workflows (e.g., production planning, quality, logistics, maintenance) into robust SAP application designs.
• Assess current-state SAP and OT/IT system landscapes and define practical, future-state architectures.
• Work on core industry topics such as shop-floor connectivity, IT/OT integration, batch/process manufacturing, and traceability.

3. Technical Delivery & Project Oversight

• Provide hands-on architectural guidance during design, build, testing, and deployment of SAP solutions.
• Review solution designs, interface specifications, custom developments, performance considerations, and security requirements.
• Support delivery teams by ensuring adherence to architecture decisions and managing risks and dependencies.
• Use SAP Solution Manager (or equivalent tools) to support design governance and project documentation.

4. Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with business process owners, project managers, solution leads, developers, and technical teams across regions.
• Facilitate design workshops, architecture boards, and technical alignment sessions.
• Communicate complex architectural decisions in a clear, pragmatic way to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

5. Technology Strategy & Platform Evaluation

• Provide recommendations on SAP roadmaps, S/4HANA transition paths, and landscape simplification.
• Evaluate integration architectures (API management, middleware, event-driven patterns).
• Contribute to platform selections for SAP ecosystem tools (MES/MOM, PLM, manufacturing execution and automation solutions).

We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP Enterprise Architect with a strong background in designing and delivering complex SAP landscapes in manufacturing environments. This role focuses on defining robust SAP architectures, leading S/4HANA programs, and ensuring seamless integration across enterprise applications, shop-floor systems, and global operations., * 20+ years in SAP solution architecture, enterprise integration, and design of SAP-based applications.

• Mandatory experience with SAP S/4HANA design, implementations, and template-driven global rollout programs.
• Deep experience in manufacturing (discrete or process) within multinational organizations.
• Strong grounding in software engineering principles and hands-on background in application development.
• Proven track record in delivering complex SAP transformation projects.

Technical Skills

• Solid functional and technical knowledge across major SAP modules (e.g., PP, MM, QM, EWM, SD, FI/CO).
• Experience with SAP Solution Manager for architecture governance, documentation, and project lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration (IDoc, RFC, APIs, middleware, event-driven patterns).
• Experience with MES/MOM, SCADA, OT systems, and IT/OT integration scenarios.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP) and data platforms supporting SAP.
• Understanding of security and compliance requirements in industrial environments (ISA/IEC 62443).

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a structured, delivery-oriented mindset.
• Ability to simplify complex architectural topics for stakeholders at all levels.

• Experience providing SAP functional leadership or leading functional teams.
• TOGAF or equivalent certification.
• Experience in global consulting or large-scale transformation programs.
