Job description

As our organisation enters a significant phase of business growth and digital transformation, we are seeking a disciplined and capable IT Developer to join our IT Development team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability of our current infrastructure while actively architecting the next generation of our business systems.

Full-time and part-time applications will be considered, up to 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A degree of on-site attendance is expected, although the role will be predominantly home-based.

What You'll be Doing:

System Development & Evolution: Manage the full software lifecycle, from designing new systems to deploying enhancements. You will translate business needs into scalable code that supports our long-term growth strategy

Operational Integrity: Ensure the performance of existing systems through proactive maintenance and troubleshooting. You will manage production and test environments to guarantee reliable service delivery.

Quality & Best Practices: Uphold high technical standards by maintaining rigorous, up-to-date documentation and ensuring all development processes align with industry best practices.

Collaborative Support: Partner with internal stakeholders and end-users to provide technical insights. You will also manage the server environments and oversee the deployment of system changes.

Requirements

We are looking for a professional with at least two years of commercial software development experience and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of PHP and MySQL, with proven experience in MVC architecture and the Laravel framework.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Blade templates, alongside experience with version control systems such as GitHub or BitBucket.
  • Familiarity with working within Linux/Ubuntu environments and configuring Apache web servers.
  • The ability to work effectively on your own initiative or as part of a team, coupled with a willingness to embrace new technologies and communicate directly with system users.

Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with experience in Livewire, Docker, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or the Zend framework will be viewed favourably.
