As an Associate Software Engineer, you will join the Underwriting Engineering team within the Risk Rating & Pricing group at LII Technology. This entry-level engineering role is designed to support your development and learning as you assist with the internal development of pricing systems. Working alongside experienced software engineers, actuaries, and underwriting experts, you will gain hands-on experience and build your skills in a collaborative, supportive environment.
About the Department & Team The Technology team for Liberty International Insurance (LII) is led by the Chief Information Officer and delivers innovative solutions and capabilities that leverage our technical expertise, business understanding and partnerships to enable market-leading performance across the organisation. The Risk Rating & Pricing team is a newly formed group within the Technology team with a focus on transforming end to end underwriting process delivering digital data driven experience across Insurance and Reinsurance globally., As an Associate Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the development, testing, and deployment of new product specifications in pricing systems under guidance from senior team members.
- Assisting with updates and changes to existing product specifications and pricing system configurations.
- Contributing to the drafting of documentation, and helping with the development of user interfaces, workflow tools, and broker portals.
- Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to understand requirements and assist in the translation into technical tasks.
- Helping to maintain and improve the quality of data throughout the rating and pricing process.
- Learning to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies, including Conduct Risk Policy, Solvency II, Data Protection, and others.
Requirements
Do you have experience in XML?, We are looking for candidates who are eager to learn and develop their technical skills, with some of the following:
- Basic understanding or coursework in programming languages such as XML, C++, Python, R, or similar.
- Interest in working with business stakeholders and a willingness to develop skills in translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Curiosity about technology and product development within the insurance industry.
- An understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a desire to grow in these areas.
- Good communication skills, including the ability to write clear and accurate documentation.
- Familiarity with Microsoft technologies is desirable.
- Educational background in computing, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), or related fields.
