Job description

This is a newly created role, designed to take Riviera's analytics capability to the next level. As our business grows and our ambitions expand, we need leaders who can help us build - not just deliver more of the same. This position is central to shaping a modern, centralised analytics function that supports every department, drives innovation, and unlocks new opportunities, empowering the business to make smarter, faster decisions through robust, scalable, and user-friendly analytics solutions

The Data Analytics Manager will lead the technical evolution of our analytics capability, driving the development and automation of data infrastructure, customer and business models, and forecasting solutions. This role will be pivotal in rolling out Power BI across the business, ensuring robust, scalable, and future-ready analytics platforms that empower the wider team and business stakeholders. The role also includes managing, mentoring, and upskilling a team of analysts to build technical capability for the future. (First-time managers are welcome and will be supported in their leadership development.)

We're looking for someone who is excited by the chance to create, influence, and lead - who sees data as a way to transform how we work, understand our customers, and make decisions. This role is about building the future, not just maintaining the present.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics Platform Enablement:

  • Lead the development and optimisation of analytics-ready data models, reporting datasets, and automation pipelines ensuring analysts and business users have the tools they need to deliver value.

Drive Automation & Efficiency:

  • Champion the automation of recurring analytics processes, freeing up the team to focus on high-value work. Leverage tools like Azure Data Factory and Power BI to streamline workflows and reporting.

Power BI Leadership:

  • Oversee the rollout, adoption, and governance of Power BI ensuring best practices, certified datasets, and high-quality, user-friendly reporting for all business stakeholders.

Model Building & Forecasting:

  • Develop and maintain business and customer analytics models that support strategic decision-making and business growth. Implement pragmatic forecasting solutions that drive planning and trading.

Technical Enablement:

  • Document analytics processes, data flows, and business logic for transparency and knowledge sharing. Run enablement sessions and publish playbooks to upskill analysts and stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay ahead of analytics technology trends evaluating, recommending, and implementing improvements (e.g., new automation tools, advanced analytics capabilities) that enhance analytics delivery.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Mentor, develop, and inspire a team of technical analysts setting goals, running regular 1:1s, and building analytical discipline and confidence.

Prioritisation & Clarity:

  • Own the analytics technical intake and triage of requests, balancing BAU support with foundational build and strategic projects. Publish and maintain a visible analytics roadmap.

Support Analytics Transformation:

  • Play a key role in centralising analytics as a cross-departmental function, helping to define standards, processes, and best practices for analytics delivery.

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, * Significant experience in technical analytics roles, with a focus on analytics-ready data models, automation, and reporting.

  • Proven track record in developing and automating analytics models and forecasting solutions.
  • Experience with data governance, GDPR, and data security best practices.
  • Ability to lead analytics projects and manage cross-functional relationships.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience mentoring, upskilling, or supporting the development of team members.
