Job description

  • Improve (incl. supervision and monitoring) defect performance of manufacturing process in close teamwork with single process engineering, process RD, QA, etc.
  • Improve process yield via defect engineering, perform physical failure analyses in close cooperation with other departments / teams (e.g. defect, FA team, etc.)
  • Analysis of defect events (root cause analysis), material disposition and support of improvement activities with defect inspections and advanced analysis methods (e.g. FIB,EDX, etc.)
  • Maintenance and improvement of defect related databases/software applications
  • Implementation, maintenance and improvement of inspection and defect engineering applications and inspection tools
  • Documentation and reporting of defect related events towards internal and external stakeholders in close collaboration with different departments (single process engineering, test, product engineering, quality, etc.)
  • Training of operators and engineers with respect to defect engineering related topics
  • Drive improvement activities towards automated decision making and material disposition (e.g. with AI/ML methods, etc.) for improving defect monitoring process performance

Requirements

Do you have a Master's degree?, * Successfully completed studies (Master degree) or PhD in Physics, Chemistry or Material Sciences or comparable

  • Several years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or similar industry and understanding of semiconductor manufacturing process and technology
  • Problem solving skills (beneficial: Six Sigma experience, 8D, etc.)
  • Programming experience, affinity to complex data analysis and IT applications (e.g. Python, SQL, MS Access, Klarity, etc.)
  • Ability to lead/participate in cross-functional teams and willingness to work in a team environment
  • Ability to adjust to fast changing environments and project working style to support the set-up of new processes
  • Confident writing and speaking ability in English and especially German (mandatory)
  • Beneficial: experienced mind-set according to automotive standards in semiconductor industry
