Job description

The Company has grown rapidly since its inception and is now looking to recruit a Junior Web Developer to help take the business to the next level. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic business as it continues to develop and we are looking for someone with a responsible and technically-focused mindset, a willingness to learn and an pro-active work ethic who will support the Technical Manager to provide technical expertise to enhance the business' systems.

Main purpose of job:

To support the Company's focus on sales, growth, and customer service by providing technical expertise primarily relating to the creation, development and maintenance of web-based solutions. The postholder will work closely with the Technical Manager and other colleagues as required to ensure urgent, routine and project-based work is completed in a timely manner to support efficient operations. They will use their skills to deliver an effective and competent level of technical support, promote an excellent user experience and effective working relationships., * To design and create innovative solutions to automate existing manual processes to increase efficiency of the business and teams.

  • To provide technical support to the Company, either by phone or in person, using a range of software development skills to diagnose, fix, or enhance processes.
  • To consistently seek to develop and maintain a good knowledge of the interoperability of internal systems, databases and workflows to ensure efficient business operations.
  • To implement and optimise responsive web design principles.
  • To possess an excellent standard level of keyboard skills and ability to use Microsoft Office programmes, particularly Excel.
  • To collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new features and functionalities.
  • To process technical development requirements in a timely manner, to ensure all requests are accurately fulfilled.
  • To handle direct enquiries relating to maintenance or fault-fixing requirements, liaising with the Technical Manager, suppliers or office staff as required.
  • To deal with routine enquiries in a pleasant and helpful manner, communicating relevant information to stakeholders, referring to others as appropriate.
  • To promote the image of the Company, ensuring that it maintains an excellent reputation for customer service standards at all times.
  • To ensure that all complaints, comments, and suggestions are dealt with appropriately, in accordance with Company policy, resolving where possible and escalating to the appropriate manager as required.
  • Where necessary, to work on own initiative, prioritising work, within defined procedures to set timescales.
  • To have a flexible / adaptable approach to work to meet various deadlines.
  • To undertake research and development, as directed.
  • To carry out other appropriate delegated duties, as required.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in jQuery?, Do you have a GCSE?, * Must have proven experience as a Web Developer with proficiency and knowledge in C# (.NET, .NET Core), SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript / JQuery.

  • Previous experience of working with Visual Studio.
  • Experience of scheduling and undertaking technical work.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills, with a positive ability to deal with conflicting priorities and uncertainty.
  • Very high standards of both written and spoken English (GCSE English or equivalent at grade C or higher)
  • Able to work on own initiative, organising and prioritising own workload to set deadlines.
  • Understanding of and commitment to equality of opportunity and good working relationships.
  • An ability to maintain confidentiality and trust.
  • Good time keeping.

Desirable:

  • Proven experience / knowledge of Relational Databases (SQL Server), Git Source Control, REST/JSON, IIS, Windows Server.
  • Relevant qualifications in Web Development, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Benefits & conditions

  • This position is office based. Full-time, 36.5 per week (part-time or flexible working may be considered, dependent on business need), Monday to Friday.
