Job description

The role requires a passion for web and mobile development, a strong foundation in both front-end and back-end technologies, and a creative mindset. As a Junior Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing, coding, and modifying digital platforms, from layout to function, according to our company's specifications., * Develop and maintain front-end web applications using React.

  • Develop and maintain back-end services and APIs using .NET (C#).
  • Contribute to mobile application development using React Native.
  • Build and integrate serverless back-end functionality using Node.js / TypeScript, AWS API Gateway,
  • and AWS Lambda.
  • Work with SQL-based relational databases to support application data needs.
  • Translate designs, wireframes and architectural guidance provided by the Solutions Architect into high-quality, working code.
  • Write clean, maintainable code in line with agreed standards and best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the development team to deliver high-quality software.
  • Apply best practices relating to scalability, performance, security, error handling, logging and monitoring.

Carry out duties in support of the WRU Group's ambition to be a smart, data-driven organisation.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in TypeScript?, * Knowledge of modern web, mobile and back-end development concepts.

  • Experience working with React, React Native, .NET (C#) and relational databases.
  • Awareness of cloud and serverless technologies, including AWS Lambda and API Gateway.
  • Ability to follow technical specifications and translate designs into working solutions.
  • A collaborative approach to working within a development team, with a willingness to learn and take feedback onboard.
  • Support a positive team culture focused on quality, learning and continuous improvement.

Experience with the technologies listed above is desirable; however, a strong willingness to learn, good computational thinking and an understanding of core programming concepts are more important than prior experience with any specific language or framework., The WRU require that individuals are proficient in IT skills, specifically Microsoft packages. Excellent written and verbal communications are essential, along with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh and a Valid UK Driver's License is desirable. This role is subject to a basic/enhanced DBS check.
