Job description

  • Applying technical knowledge, skills, and training to design and implement data pipelines and workflows that support data ingestion, transformation, and delivery for business use
  • Ensuring data is captured, stored, and made accessible in a secure, scalable, and reusable manner across the organisation
  • Understanding enterprise data architecture and governance policies to ensure compliance and traceability across datasets
  • Working under general direction, exercising substantial autonomy and discretion in identifying and resolving issues related to data engineering
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the data platform, product, and analytics teams to ensure data is accessible and usable for downstream use cases including analytics and AI/ML
  • Participates in external activities or industry groups relevant to data engineering and platform design
  • Supports continuous improvement in data engineering practices and contributes to team knowledge sharing and innovation

Requirements

Do you have experience in Spark?, * Understanding of modern data engineering principles and the data lifecycle

  • Awareness of enterprise data governance, metadata, and quality requirements
  • Experience in managing data across on-prem and cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, Databricks)
  • Familiarity with distributed computing tools and big data technologies (e.g. Spark)
  • Awareness of the security and compliance considerations around sensitive and regulated data
  • Understanding of data modelling principles and SQL-based analytics with proficiency in Python
  • Experience building pipelines using tools like Apache Spark, Airflow, and Delta Lake
  • Experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD processes (e.g. GitLab)
