Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Point of Sale Engineering (Apple Retail)

This engineer needs to work closely with cross-functional teams to identify potential solutions and go on to work with the engineering teams to properly test and deploy changes. Critical thinking, writing solid and clean code, planning, documenting, and communicating within the team and cross-functionally is critical to the success of the role.

The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate the following characteristics and experience:*Passion for eliminating repetitive manual processes using automation.*Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical capabilities.*Deploying application releases and code from Development into Production.*Shepherding applications through the software delivery life cycle.*Develop and maintain a working knowledge of trends and standard methodologies within Apple.*Setup and analyse application health metrics and provide solutions to ensure stability.*Experience troubleshooting problems and working with a team to resolve large scale production issues.*Work timings will vary 4 to 5 days a month to support engineering activities with global teams., * Demonstrate a strong proficiency in software development using Python, Rust, and/or Java programming languages.

• Experience working with cloud compute environments like OpenStack, AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC), configuration management, CI/CD, and automation.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, and debugging skills.
• Bachelors or Masters in a Computer Science, Mathematics or related Engineering field., * Proficiency in implementing and correlating telemetry using monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana and Prometheus.
• Building and operating container orchestrating systems (Docker, Kubernetes and micro-services).
• Experience in UNIX/Linux Operating Systems a plus.
