Job description

The Enterprise Messaging team delivers core integration services that connect systems across Mizuho EMEA. The team designs, develops, and supports middleware solutions that enable reliable data exchange, underpinning key business processes and ensuring stable, efficient application communication across the organisation., Within Mizuho EMEA One Mizuho Service Enterprise Messaging team, the developer will work towards implementing new and enhancing existing application integration projects within the middleware framework. This requires involvement in the full project life cycle from the initial project technical proposal through to analysis, design, implementation and subsequent production rollout and support. This role will expose the individual to all business areas, including front office, settlements, custody, and accounting.

  • Analysis, design, and development of new integration projects in a Unix and Windows environment.
  • Producing detailed functional and design specifications.
  • Participating in projects, planning, and conducting systems testing and supporting user acceptance testing.
  • Liaising with users from all areas and with other ISD teams including ISD Control and Technical Services.
  • Adhering to Mizuho EMEA development standards and procedures, including change control.
  • Dealing with day-to-day production problems and maintenance when required.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience, preferably in a Computer Science related subject, Mathematics or Engineering.
  • Demonstrable experience of software development, through study and/or work experience
  • Proven track record of programming in a recognised mainstream language such as C#, Java, or C++
  • Technical analysis and investigatory skills.
  • Ability to talk about technology in simple terms.
