Java Lead Developer 100%

• Provide technical leadership and drive solution design decisions
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and provide effort estimates for technical solutions using agile sizing techniques
• Design and development of complex functionality for the banks Pricing Portal in the form of secure, scalable backend services
• Collaborate in agile sprints (planning, grooming, retrospectives) within cross-functional teams
• Mentor junior developers and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions
• Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and support capacity planning for the team
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding and security guidelines
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents; perform root cause analysis
• Optimise application performance, database interactions, and observability (logging, metrics, tracing)
• Lead by example in a cross-functional and multi-location team and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Drive technical discussions and contribute to the evolution of our software engineering practices, with a focus on back-end development and a keen interest in front-end integration

• Proven track record of delivering complex software projects using Java and related technologies, with a focus on back-end development
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Jakarta EE and RESTful APIs incl. documentation
• Strong affinity for front-end development, with experience in technologies such as React, JavaScript, and Typescript
• Excellent understanding of software design patterns, principles, and best practices, particularly in the context of back-end development
• Experience with DevOps concepts, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), automated testing, and monitoring
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and develop creative solutions
• Proficiency with agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
• Banking, in particular Pricing & Revenue experience would be a huge plus
• Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Readiness and motivation to learn about the Pricing solution
• A self-motivated, communicative personality with great interest in new challenges with independent and responsible working attitude
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement
• High emotional intelligence and ability to influence without authority
• Good communicator in English, German is nice to have
