DevOps Manager

One of our established clients in the banking world is currently looking to hire a DevOps manager on a permanent basis to join their existing high performance team. You'll be acting as technical and cultural change catalysts, accelerating learning journeys and the progressive adoption of the DevOps centre of excellence Technical practices and techniques. They'll look to you to utilise your in-depth understanding and broad experience of daily continuous deployment of business-critical systems to production., As a Lead DevOps Cloud Engineer, you'll be demonstrating DevOps technical practices, mentoring, coaching teams, and demonstrating how to measure, understand and visualise the flow and delivery of value through the adoption of DevOps tools, technologies, techniques, patterns, and processes from inception through to technical implementation and delivery.

• Working within feature teams, platforms, domains and centre of excellence initiatives as active engineers, practitioners, mentors and coaches
• Providing feedback that builds on policies, standards, practices and associated DevOps tooling
• Contributing to building the DevOps engineering capability, culture and mind-sets within the bank
• Making sure decisions made are based on robust data, return on investment and value measures that demonstrate thoughtful and intelligent cost management

To be successful in this role you'll have a combination of strong technical skills and experience of managing engineering teams in Agile DevOps environments driving technical excellence and cultural change.

You'll have proven experience of delivering within the associated constraints of governance, resilience & security. Additionally you'll have a strong understanding of cloud security, network architecture, and regulatory compliance along with hands-on experience deploying and operating business-critical systems at scale.

• Significant proficiency to transform and innovate DevOps and SRE operations in complex, customer-facing environments
• experience working within financial services, leading and growing a DevOps focused team.
• Expert level knowledge and proficiency of CI/CD tooling such as GitLab pipelines
• In depth knowledge of AWS Cloud Platforms and container orchestration including Kubernetes
• Deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code and GitOps including , Argo CD
• Proficiency in Python and automation frameworks
• experience with performance monitoring, capacity management, and ensuring 24/7 uptime for retail-scale platforms
