Job description
To lead and develop the HM Bench Test Team, ensuring high-quality, accurate testing of automotive HVAC components to meet customer and internal requirements., * Oversee daily operation of the bench test area.
- Ensure tests are correctly set up, executed, and set down per Standard Operation Sheets.
- Review and interpret customer specifications.
- Plan internal and external test activities, including resource management.
- Manage the functional test plan and contribute to the master schedule.
- Maintain and update the test request database.
- Demonstrate strong testing methodology and data analysis capability.
- Manage test data from internal, regional, or third-party sources.
- Compile, analyse, and present test data within detailed reports.
- Lead procurement or manufacture of test fixtures and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with HM QMS & EHS policies.
- Contribute to team training and technical development.
- Collaborate with QA and cross-functional teams across Europe and globally.
- Provide technical leadership to the Test Engineering team.
- Support KPI delivery, resource planning, and staff development.
- Ensure planned maintenance activities are executed.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Plastics injection molding?, We are now looking for an experienced and motivated HVAC Test Section Leader to join our R&D team and lead the operation of our bench test facility., * Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Languages
- Fluent English (written & verbal).
- Additional languages (French, Spanish, German) are advantageous.
Experience
- Significant experience in a test environment, ideally automotive.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and components.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes: injection moulding, aluminium brazing, pipe bending.
Technical Skills & Personal Attributes
- Strong testing skills: software use, noise analysis, thermal dynamics, instrumentation.
- Excellent communication and technical presentation skills.
- Capable of producing clear, accurate reports.
- Well-organised, self-motivated, and proactive.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Strong problem-solving and engineering analysis capability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Able to work flexibly with minimal supervision.
- Available for UK and international travel.
- Able to collaborate effectively with R&D, Development Engineering, and global teams.
