Requirements

We are looking for a Senior Applied Data Scientist. This team has a stronger emphasis on research data, working extensively with market research and integrating it with transactional datasets to generate deeper customer insights. The work is highly exploratory, focused on developing new solutions. You will be able to communicate your findings to a wide range of audiences and will have the ability to quickly pick-up and learn new data science techniques.

What we expect from you

  • Ability to lead and deliver complex data science and analytical projects end-to-end.
  • Skill in translating client briefs into actionable data science approaches.
  • Proven experience applying a range of data science techniques to solve real-world business problems.
  • Strong proficiency in Python; experience with PySpark is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience working with large-scale transactional datasets (millions of rows).
  • A fast learner with the ability to adopt new data science techniques quickly.
  • Confidence in presenting insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience building BI dashboards would be a strong advantage, particularly Google Looker, in addition to core data science skills.
  • A degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Biology, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
  • Knowledge of the UK retail or consumer goods industry is a bonus.
