Job description

Head Resourcing is pleased to be working with a leading organisation in the UK who are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join their team.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll join a team that enables other engineers to deliver safely on GCP. You'll work alongside experienced platform engineers, learning how to design, deploy, and operate cloud services at enterprise scale. The role suits someone early in their career who enjoys problem-solving, wants to learn modern engineering practices, and is keen to grow into a well-rounded cloud engineer., * Help deliver and maintain cloud services on Google Cloud Platform, following secure-by-design principles.

  • Create, update, and reuse Terraform modules to standardise how infrastructure is deployed.
  • Support build-and-release processes by contributing to automation pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub-based workflows, Harness, Terraform Cloud).
  • Write scripts and tooling to remove repetitive tasks and improve reliability and consistency.
  • Assist with operational support, including alerts, incidents, fixes, and post-incident learning.
  • Work within an agile team: contribute to planning, reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.
  • Build capability in key platform disciplines such as logging/monitoring, access controls, policy, and DevOps ways of working.

Requirements

  • Around 1-3 years in a technical role related to cloud, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
  • Working knowledge of cloud fundamentals (networking, identity, compute, storage) and some exposure to GCP services.
  • Ability to script in at least one language such as Python, Bash, Java, or Go.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and at least one toolset (e.g., Jenkins, Harness, GitHub Actions).
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform (training/projects count).
  • A proactive approach to learning, ownership, and collaboration.

Desirable:

  • Basic understanding of containers and/or Kubernetes.
  • Awareness of monitoring/observability platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Dynatrace, or equivalents).
  • Experience working in an agile delivery environment.

Benefits & conditions

  • Up to £53k depending on experience + Bonus + Pension
