Job description
Due to ongoing growth and expansion an excellent opportunity has arisen for a BMS Project Team Leader in the Controls team, to report to James Holding, Controls Software & Development Manager. A dotted line relationship to each Project Manager in the team will be established based on which project the engineer is assigned to lead., * Lead a team of BMS Engineers aligned with a specific BMS project to meet agreed requirements
- The engineer will be assigned one large or multiple smaller projects at any one time, with a dotted line in to the overall Project Manager for that particular job
- The project team size will vary depending on the scope of the project, typically ranging from 2 to 10 engineers
- Responsibility for delivering assigned project on time and to a high standard within P&L targets
- Recognise the 'Voice of the Customer' in everything we do by contributing to a proactive and productive improvement culture, underpinned by the spirit of continuous improvement
- Ensure project Description of Operations and SOO are followed by their project team reports
- Assess and distribute work within the project team
- Hold team project briefings as and when required
- Keep a track of the project progress and status and issue reports to the wider team
- Determine training requirements for the project team and mentor less experienced engineers
- Monitor individual performance of members within the project team and help set targets for individual progression
- Inform the Controls Software & Development Manager of any issues that may require investigation or disciplinary action
- Make recommendations to improve and achieve departmental targetsTo understand, promote and contribute to the company health and safety, risk assessment and environmental policies within the Controls team
- Some site work may be required to hand over the project to the site team during
Requirements
Do you have experience in Supervising experience?, * Experience with Tridium Niagara 4 & AX software and controllers
- An understanding of HVAC refrigeration systems
- Minimum Degree level in an Engineering discipline. Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics or Computer Science are preferred.
- Appreciation of datacentre HVAC applications and products, especially Chillers, CRAH, CRAC, CDU and FWU
- Good communication skills
- Supervisory experience would be an advantage
- Ability to maintain good working relationships within all levels of the Company
- Safety, Environmental & Quality awareness
- Ability to challenge should an employee not be working to the expected level required
- A desire to pioneer new and innovative solutions with "outside the box" thinking.
- Must be able to work on projects autonomously, be self-motivated and able to take initiative.
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude towards problem solving and building a strong team.
- The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
Training will be provided for the right applicant to develop the skills & knowledge required for the position.
