Job description

As part of a small team of developers - develop, test and assist in the go live of changes to our company software (predominantly web-based front end), and develop new functions in line with company requirements.

Where required assist other team members by:

· documenting and sharing knowledge of the software functions so that other team members can develop the same systems.

· work on other in-house development projects where required, including our website.

Any change or new systems developed are to be secure, intuitive and efficient to use. Alongside having up-to-date documentation of respective systems, maintained.

Key responsibilities

· Maintain and support existing systems which have been created in-house or require developer level support to rectify issues.

· Develop new functionality as agreed through defined change channels or as part of larger projects.

· Develop appropriate interfaces to other related solutions (Cloud based or in-house) that contain logging of any and all functions for later investigation or troubleshooting purposes.

· Develop code, which is accessible, robust, flexible, efficient and secure.

· Maintain a comprehensive documentation library of the system to agreed standards.

· Arranging a thorough testing plan of the functionality of the system to achieve user acceptance, ensuring all key stakeholders are involved.

· Report progress of the work packages to the within I.T. and, where relevant, Project Managers.

· Identify risks within the proposed systems and design mitigation strategies.

· Assist in the go-live and training of the modules.

· Act as part of the whole I.T. team assisting others when able.

· Source control with Git.

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, Skills, competencies, qualifications and personal experience

· Experience with strong knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts.

· Experience in developing solutions against Microsoft SQL Server.

· Experience in .Net Core, Entity Framework Core & Angular.

· Desirable - Experience in PhP, JavaScript & LESS/CSS.

· Desirable - Experience in Azure DevOps (source control) & JIRA.

· Desirable - Understanding of and/or experience with CI/CD.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

· Strong MS office skills and attention to detail.

· A mind-set for continuous improvement and self-development.

· Must be a team player but also work well on own initiative.

· Strong organisational & administrative skills.
