Job description
Most IT departments are reactive. We're building one that's proactive, autonomous, and powered by the same cutting-edge AI technology we ship to our customers. As Senior Manager of AI-Enabled IT, you won't just oversee a department-you'll architect an automated internal ecosystem. We're looking for someone who views a service desk not as a queue of tickets, but as a data set to be optimised by AI agents. You'll lead a small team of specialists and AI agents to manage our global SaaS stack while relentlessly building AI into every manual process. This isn't about being a manager who delegates-it's about being a leader who rolls up their sleeves, gets hands-on, and adapts to whatever the business needs. If you're already using Claude and Gemini to automate your work and have an AI-first mindset, this is your opportunity to build the future of IT. This role is hybrid to our Manchester office. We value collaboration and believe the best work happens when we're together-so we ask for a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. This isn't just about attendance; it's about building relationships, solving problems faster, and creating the culture that makes Matillion special., * Own and iterate the AI agent at the front of our service desk-refining its logic, integrations, and responses until it autonomously handles the vast majority of internal queries
- Lead a small team of IT specialists, shifting their focus from repetitive tasks to high-value engineering projects while staying hands-on when needed
- Build and maintain AI agents to automate IT engineering "heavy lifting"-including Identity & Access Management (IAM), onboarding/offboarding, and Mobile Device Management (MDM)
- Maintain a world-class cloud-first IT environment using Jamf, Intune, Okta, Google Workspace, Meraki, Slack, and Zoom-with an eye for automated troubleshooting
- Rebuild traditional IT workflows (Change Management, Incident Management) from the ground up, using AI to automate approvals, risk assessment, and documentation
Requirements
- Proven experience managing IT in a cloud-first, SaaS-heavy environment with expert knowledge of Jamf, Intune, Okta, and Google Workspace
- Hands-on experience working with LLMs, prompt engineering, or agentic workflows to automate business processes-you're already using tools like Claude and Gemini in your work
- Technically fearless with deep IT fundamentals (Mac/Windows, MDM, Networking), but you've realized AI is the future of the craft and you want to go all-in
- Automation specialist who believes manual work is a bug, not a feature-you thrive on finding ways to make systems talk to each other and eliminate repetitive tasks
- Strategic leader who can zoom out to manage budgets and vendor roadmaps, then roll up your sleeves to debug an API integration or tackle whatever the business needs
