Job description
We're looking for a Systems Administrator (IT/Security), employed 60% to 100%, to take end-to-end ownership of our internal IT operations and security posture as we scale our Zürich office. You'll be our first dedicated hire in this space, responsible for: administration of our Linux systems, reliable office network infrastructure, IT security, and streamlined identity/access management across our core SaaS tools.
This is a unique opportunity to understand and advance the IT infrastructure powering the development of state-of-the-art humanoid robots and AI. You'll work with Flexion's robots, GPU workstations, servers, cloud infrastructure, modern networking equipment and robot testing areas.
The role combines hands-on systems administration with pragmatic security leadership. You'll define policies and processes, implement the controls that matter most, and partner with our engineers to ensure our internal and cloud environments stay secure without slowing the company down.
You'll be part of our experienced infrastructure team consisting of senior software engineers (ex Google, Meta, Amazon). This team has built the foundations of our current IT systems and your responsibility will be to take them to the next level., * Own IT end-to-end: build and run reliable internal IT for a growing team ( 40), with clear processes for onboarding/offboarding, access, and support. You'll collaborate with our software engineers on the implementation when needed.
- Secure our Linux fleet: standardize and manage Linux laptops, GPU workstations and servers (provisioning, patching, hardening, posture, inventory).
- Run identity & SaaS access: administer Google Workspace and core tools (e.g., GitHub, Tailscale, cloud/AI vendors), enforcing least privilege and clean lifecycle management.
- Operate the office network: maintain and improve our UniFi-based network (Wi-Fi, segmentation, firewalling, guest access) for high uptime, strong security and robust connections to our robots.
- Lead security improvements: define practical security policies and roll out high-impact controls to protect company IP.
- Baseline AWS security: manage foundational AWS security (org/IAM hygiene, VPC/security groups, EC2 lifecycle guardrails) in partnership with engineering.
Requirements
-
3+ years experience in systems administration / IT operations, with meaningful ownership of IT environments.
-
Strong Linux administration skills: Configuration and automation (e.g. Ansible), system hardening, updates, and troubleshooting.
-
Solid fundamentals in networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wi-Fi, firewall concepts) and ability to operate/maintain office network gear.
-
Experience running identity and access management in a company setting (Google Workspace preferred), including joiner/mover/leaver workflows and permission design.
-
Practical security mindset: ability to define policies, prioritize controls, and implement security improvements that scale with a growing team.
-
Comfortable working independently in a high-ownership role: you can set direction, deliver, document, and iterate.
Additionally, the following skills are a plus
- Familiarity with common security tooling: EDR, vulnerability scanning, centralized logging, secrets management, and password managers.
- AWS security fundamentals: IAM best practices, VPC/security groups, baseline monitoring/alerting, and secure EC2 lifecycle practices.
- Scripting/automation ability (e.g., Bash/Python) to reduce repetitive operational work.
Benefits & conditions
- Competitive compensation package
- A front-row seat at one of Europe's most ambitious robotics companies
- An energetic, collaborative team with a bias for action
