Job description

Leidos Digital Modernization sector is seeking a Solutions Architect to support HQ USEUCOM J6 Division in Stuttgart, Germany. This role focuses on designing and delivering integrated technical solutions that support mission-critical capabilities across USEUCOM.

The Solutions Architect will translate validated operational requirements into implementable system designs and executable work packages for Agile Release Trains (ARTs). This position plays a critical role in ensuring solution designs are technically sound, integrated across systems, and aligned with mission objectives.

This program delivers analytical and technical support services to evolve the infrastructure, systems, services, and information flows used to execute missions including Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Command and Control (C2), Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), Logistics, and Coalition Networks. Support extends to U.S. European Command, U.S. Africa Command, and associated organizations. OCONUS travel is required.

To be considered you must have an active DOD TS/SCI Security Clearance and be able to obtain TESA Approval (permission to work in Germany), Solution Design & Integration

  • Design end-to-end technical solutions for complex, multi-system capabilities within approved enterprise architecture standards.
  • Develop solution architectures that integrate systems across multiple ARTs and mission domains.
  • Ensure scalability, security, interoperability, and operational resilience of proposed solutions.

Requirements Translation & Execution Support

  • Decompose high-level operational requirements into detailed technical designs, features, and enablers.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and ART leadership to prepare work for Program Increment (PI) planning.
  • Support refinement of epics and features to ensure architectural clarity prior to implementation.

Technical Governance & Alignment

  • Ensure solutions align with established enterprise architecture frameworks and strategic guidance.
  • Conduct technical feasibility assessments and trade-off analyses.
  • Identify integration risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Architecture Artifacts & Modeling

  • Develop solution-level architecture artifacts, including system context diagrams, integration models, data flow diagrams, and interface control documentation.
  • Contribute to System-of-Systems Architecture Descriptions and Capability Design Documents as required.
  • Support modeling efforts related to mission execution, data exchanges, and system dependencies.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with Enterprise Architects, System Architects, Capability Managers, cyber teams, and operational stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance to development teams throughout design and implementation.
  • Present solution designs and technical recommendations to leadership and mission partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience (additional experience may substitute for degree).
  • Experience as a Solutions Architect, System Architect, or senior technical lead in a SAFe or other scaled Agile environment.
  • Experience designing integrated solutions across multiple systems or mission domains.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) or Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
  • Experience translating operational requirements into implementable technical designs.
  • Experience supporting Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, or Combat Support Agencies (e.g., DISA, DIA, MDA, NGA).
  • Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • European Theater experience.
  • SAFe Architect (ARCH) or related certification.
  • Familiarity with TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Experience with architecture modeling tools such as Cameo, Erwin Casewise (CMD2), or System Architect.
  • Knowledge of network design principles, SATCOM, and enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting COCOM operational environments.
  • Familiarity with Mission Relevant Terrain - Cyber (MRT-C) modeling.
