Job description
- Lead application domain strategy for the Air Sector, setting the vision and roadmap for application solutions within a specific business domain or area
- Oversee the Application Portfolio Management (APM) activities to manage obsolescence, and rationalisation of the applications used in the Sector
- Define and design application architecture blueprints and ensure alignment with business goals and technical standards
- Collaborate with functional application business owners and technical owners to deliver a consistent and coherent set of application roadmaps
- Ensure application specific data is owned, managed and curated within the Sector Configuration Management Data Base (CMDB) repository
- Ensure application integration through designing and enforce standards for integrating applications with existing systems and platforms
- Evaluate and recommend technologies - Research, select, and justify technology stacks, frameworks, and tools to support application development. - Define standards and best practices
- Establish coding standards, design principles, and governance to maintain consistency and quality
- Oversee solution delivery - Provide architectural guidance throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure compliance with design
- Identify application architectural risks and ensure solutions meet security, regulatory, and performance requirements
- Support and train technical teams on architectural decisions and best practices
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to evolve architecture and improve application performance, Working with Group IM&T to design an overall structure for the applications used by the sector, setting standards and overseeing their implementation.
Our goal is to ensure functional application roadmaps are agreed and recorded in the architecture repository and that they work together evaluating technology and managing risk to optimise performance, security and efficiency across the sector Maintaining the architecture components of the Sector Business Capability model and proposed updates/changes to it.
Requirements
Do you have experience in TOGAF?, * Experience in the delivery of application architecture standards and governance in a complex business environment
- Familiarity with IT governance frameworks
- A good communicator with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in people management
Desirable:
- Relevant Architecture or IT qualifications such as STEM degree, TOGAF or ITIL
- Proficiency with Enterprise Architecture Modelling practices
