Job description

In this role, you will play a key part in shaping our hardware and embedded systems. You will take central responsibility for the conception, design, implementation, and testing of modern FPGA-based solutions, as well as the maintenance and further development of existing systems.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Development, implementation, and testing of complex FPGA and SoC architectures
  • Design of VHDL-based systems and development of verification environments
  • Execution of simulations, timing analysis, and hardware validation
  • Development of embedded software for microcontrollers
  • Support of the hardware design team (schematic and layout reviews, testing, documentation)
  • Maintenance and continuous improvement of existing systems
  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and close coordination with hardware and software teams
  • Ensuring high quality standards and structured development processes

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software development?, * Completed degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field of study

  • 6-10 years of professional experience in FPGA and SoC development
  • Strong expertise in FPGA/SoC architectures and design (AMD/Xilinx, Altera, VHDL)
  • Proficient in common FPGA development tools (Vivado/Vitis, Quartus, ModelSim) as well as Python and TCL
  • Experience in embedded software development (PIC, ATMEGA, STM32, MicroBlaze)
  • Solid knowledge of classical hardware development and experience with hardware design tools (e.g., Mentor Expedition)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills combined with an independent, analytical, and structured working style
  • English: business-fluent (written and spoken); German: fluent (written and spoken)
