Job description
With the massive surge of electronic travel documents and national eID cards, Thales Digital & Security global business unit is supporting border agencies, government authorities and airports to exploit technology convergence to gain consistent, comprehensive border, visa management and document verification worldwide that will:
- Deliver seamless travel with border control applications.
- Offer convenience for travelers for fast and secure border crossing.
- Improve border intelligence for detection and prevention, including some of the most disruptive new technologies like biometrics, machine learning, or micro services.
As a Backoffice Solution Architect, your role is to define and design the technical solution during the bid and project delivery phases, ensuring the delivery with core customization by the Backoffice (BO) aligns with customer requirements and technical feasibility, also aligned with the product roadmap., + Responsible for requirements analysis in bid phase in collaboration with PDA.
- Categorize product, core or non-core customization with PLM and PLA.
- Ensure the feasibility of the solution in terms of architecture and technology maturity.
- Provide estimation (effort, plan, etc.) of BO part by the collaboration with PLM, TL and R&D.
- Approve BO (product and core-customization) part in final bid proposal (HEE, Schedule and technical documentation review).
- Project
- Requirements gathering session with PDA for the BO part, and orient the solution architecture.
- Conduct ceremonies as SRR to clarify the release scope and customer requirements.
- Support TL to map requirements to user stories and review the design of core-customization.
- Approve change request (CR).
- Approve TQR of BO delivery to guarantee the release meets requirement.
- Identify technical risks and share with stakeholders.
- Daily
- Build and continuously update solution documents (DVa, SSS, SAR, ICD, SSDD, Compliance Matrix, PBS, etc.).
- Provide solution training to PDA upon product training provided by R&D team.
- Participate in border product development process meeting of SRR and TQR to learn and provide comments from project experiences.
- Facilitate the continuous development of way and culture with BO team together.

Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or computer science, and significant experience in your field of expertise.
- At least 3 years of proven experience with business analysis and defining complex solution architectures.
- Professional knowledge and proven experience relevant to border and travel domain.
- Strong understanding of security principles and standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, particularly in cross-functional settings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
Previous knowledge or work experience in any of the following points will be valued:
- Experience with Biometric (fingerprint, facial, iris, etc.) systems.
- Certifications relevant to Solution Architect (TOGAF; ARCHIMATE; UML; BMPN; INCOSE; etc.).
- Familiarity with hardware components and their integration within software systems.
- Knowledge of regulatory or compliance requirements relevant to your industry (ICAO 9303; ISO 27001; ISO 25010; NIST SP800; EIDAS; DTC2; DTC3; ISO 19794; NIST SP500; etc.)
- Customer-facing technical experience.
