Job description
- Translate specific business requirements into robust technical solutions
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and processes
- Develop and optimize graph database models using Neo4j
- Work with the development team to create/maintain a common data model and data lakehouse
- Enable automation, development and delivery of self-service reporting for stakeholders
- Reviewing solutions for efficiency and scalability, monitoring and tuning as required whilst considering cost optimisation
- Act as a subject matter expert in data modelling and architecture, including OLTP vs OLAP design patterns and batch vs streaming data processing
- Implementing and improving monitoring, alerting and observability of data pipelines
- Work collaboratively with the wider business and development team to deliver Business Intelligence reports and dashboards
- Enhance business understanding and decision making with data visualizations
- Implementing and improving testing, data validation and data quality checks alongside helping shape overall CI/CD process
Requirements
Do you have experience in SQL?, Bridewell is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to play a key role in delivering end-to-end data solutions, building scalable pipelines and trusted datasets that power cybersecurity insights and services. If you're an analytical problem-solver with a passion for turning complex data into value, we'd love to hear from you., You'll have experience of:
- Working with business stakeholders to capture and validate requirements
- Using PowerBI to transform and visualize data
- Big Data Platforms, data Pipelines and Orchestration
- Developing new data engineering and visualization functions (desirable)
- Data Governance concepts and Golden Record creation (desirable)
- Experience working in Azure (Storage Accounts, KeyVault, Azure SQL, Event Hubs, Cosmos DB, Logic Apps) (desirable)
- Using Salesforce and its underlying object data structure (desirable)
- DevOps Practices/Principles (desirable)
- CI/CD and version control (Azure DevOps, Git)
- Motivated to pick up new technologies
- Naturally driven, enthusiastic and willing to learn
Required/Desirable Skills:
- Strong understanding of RDBMS, NoSQL and Graph Databases (Neo4j)
- Understanding of OLAP, warehousing and big data
- Proficiency in SQL, transformations and query execution optimisation
- Power BI data transformation and visualisation
- Querying and manipulating JSON
- Knowledge of Databricks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Data focused Python development experience (Pandas, Polars, DuckDB, PySpark) (desirable)
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and operational processes (desirable)
- Building prototypes or proof-of-concept AI solutions (desirable)
- Knowledge of privacy and security controls in AI systems (desirable)
