Job description
Join our Corporate Systems Team as a Systems Administrator and shape the digital backbone that will keep the Government Property Agency running. You will spearhead the management of our entire Microsoft 365 platform, everything from SharePoint and Teams to Defender, Purview, Sentinel, and Azure AD under the rigorous standards of the Microsoft Blueprint for UK Government. IT Service Management (ITSM) and Service Operation

Act as 1st-level support, logging, categorising and resolving incidents, problems, changes and service requests in line with ITIL 4 Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management and Service Request Management practices.

Escalate complex issues to specialist teams and our managed services supplier for 2nd and 3rd line support, maintain communication with stakeholders and ensure swift incident, problem, change and service request resolution. System Administration, Environment Management and Release Management

Plan, schedule and deploy monthly sprint releases, patches and feature rollouts across Microsoft 365 components (Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform).

Maintain rollback plans and validate successful deployment in test and production environments. Configuration Management & Asset Control

Own the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), tracking Microsoft 365 configuration items and dependencies

Manage licences, subscriptions and lifecycle of Microsoft 365 services and related infrastructure. Identity & Access Management (IAM)

Design, implement and maintain Role-Based Access Control for customers, partners, suppliers and employees using Azure AD PIM, Conditional Access and MFA.

Regularly review access entitlements, enforce least-privilege policies and audit privileged accounts. Information Security & Compliance

Monitor security alerts via Microsoft Sentinel and Defender, coordinating triage, investigation and remediation

Build and maintain Purview compliance dashboards and audit reports for IL3/IL4 accreditation. Continual Improvement & Reporting

Define KPIs, create executive dashboards on system health, licence utilization, incident trends and security posture.

Lead post-incident reviews, track improvement actions and update service practices. Innovation & Automation

Drive adoption of Microsoft Co-pilot, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) to automate workflows and build bespoke applications.

Mentor junior staff on PowerShell scripting and Infrastructure as Code (ARM Templates / Terraform).
