Job description
As a Financial Crime Data Specialist, you will design and implement end-to-end data solutions that underpin FCC processes across KYC, CDD, screening, transaction monitoring, investigations, and SAR reporting. You'll lead data mapping, lineage, and architectural design, while shaping the data strategy that improves accessibility, quality, and consistency across the FCC life cycle. You'll collaborate with Technology, Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Data Governance teams to translate regulatory demands into actionable data requirements. You'll also support transformation programmes by developing future-state models, golden sources, metadata, taxonomies, and data flows that strengthen the bank's financial crime capabilities.
Requirements
You will need to have a number of years' experience as a Data Specialist, Data Architect, or Data Analyst within FCC/AML/KYC functions within a Tier1 global bank, CAMS/ICA/CDMP certifications and exposure to cloud data platforms such as Azure. Proven hands-on experience in data mapping, data modelling, lineage analysis, architecture design and demonstrable domain knowledge, across Financial Crime customer journeys, including:

- Sanctions & Screening
- Transaction Monitoring
- Customer Onboarding
- Investigations & Case Management
- Strong understanding of FCC regulatory standards and data requirements
- Experience with data tools (SQL, ETL, ER modelling tools, Collibra, lineage tools, metadata catalogues)
- Familiarity with modern data architectures (data mesh, lakehouse, distributed models)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven design skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management experience across technology, compliance, product, and operations
Benefits & conditions
This is a 10-month interim opportunity and is working on a hybrid basis with 2 days on site per week. It is paying up to £590 per day and is inside IR35.
