Job description
We're looking for a strong Lead UX/UI Designer to take day-to-day ownership of the member-side experience within a large-scale US Healthcare Navigator programme. The member platform is a significant digital transformation initiative within a regulated US healthcare environment, evolving the client's existing digital experience ahead of a January 1, 2027, go-live.
This role is accountable for experience direction, design quality and cross-platform coherence across the Member platform (desktop web, responsive web, and React Native app).
You will operate as the design lead for this workstream, reporting into the Head of Design (who oversees the wider account portfolio) and partnering closely with the client-side design lead.
This is a structured, enterprise-scale programme with a defined scope and roadmap. The focus is on elevating decision quality, aligning experience direction with product intent, and ensuring design performs at scale, under regulation, and with technical constraints.
- Lead the Member-side design direction on a day-to-day basis
- Oversee key UX/UI decisions across web and app platforms
- Provide guidance and constructive challenge to the Web and App Design Leads
- Ensure coherence across interaction models, IA, system behaviours and design system usage
- Align experience decisions with delivery realities and longer-term product vision
Six designers contribute to the platform through the Web and App Design Leads. While this role does not carry formal line management responsibilities, it is accountable for experience integrity and decision clarity across the workstream.
What you will do
- Own UX/UI direction across desktop web, responsive web and React Native
- Partner with Product and Engineering to support quarterly scope reviews and product vision alignment
- Influence backlog prioritisation through experience insight
- Support and shape research focus areas to reduce delivery risk
- Ensure research outputs meaningfully inform product direction
- Guide integration of AI-assisted capabilities within guided journeys
- Challenge design decisions constructively to strengthen clarity and consistency
- Step into hands-on UX/UI work when required to unblock or accelerate
- Represent the Member platform confidently in cross-functional forums
Discovery Capability & Maturity
While your primary focus will be leading the Member platform through to its 2027 go-live, we are actively strengthening our discovery capability across the wider portfolio.
In partnership with the Head of Design, you will help advance how we approach early-stage product definition by:
- Supporting the structure and rigour of discovery engagements
- Contributing to problem framing approaches and workshop design
- Strengthening how research informs early product direction
- Improving how discovery outputs translate into delivery-ready clarity
- Elevating confidence and consistency in upstream thinking
You may contribute directly to selected discovery engagements where appropriate, but your core focus will remain the Member platform.
Internal Design Community
We operate as a consultancy with a growing internal design community (currently 18 designers across UX/UI, Research and Strategy).
In addition to client delivery, you will:
- Be active and vocal within the internal design community
- Share learning from complex transformation programmes
- Contribute to raising standards and improving delivery maturity
- Support improvements in efficiency, tooling and ways of working, Occasional travel to the United States will be required for key alignment moments. Additional travel may be required for strategic workshops or discovery engagements with other clients.
While the role is based on UK working hours, flexibility is required to collaborate effectively across time zones when necessary.

Requirements
Do you have experience in WCAG?, * Strong senior-level experience leading UX/Product Design within complex delivery environments
- Proven experience delivering across desktop web, responsive web, and React Native platforms
- Confidence operating as the accountable design authority within a defined workstream
- Experience supporting product vision discussions and quarterly planning cycles
- Strong understanding of how research reduces risk and informs prioritisation
- Experience working with scalable design systems
- Ability to challenge constructively and defend design decisions with clarity
- Consultancy or multi-team delivery experience
- Strong proficiency in UX/UI tooling and scalable delivery workflows, including practical application of AI-assisted capabilities
- Strong understanding of accessibility principles (WCAG 2.2 AA/AAA)
