Job description

You'll be working in a team that understands the Play and Reward technology and knows how to deliver great products that drive the most engaging customer experiences. Providing operational support for the SBG Free to Play apps (web, mobile, and native) and the Sports Generosity systems for all UKI region brands: Sky Betting and Gaming, Paddy Power, Betfair, and Betfair International / Brazil., Our Developers know their stuff - they're busy working independently and setting high standards.

  • As a Software Engineer for Frontend , you will play a key role within our Software Development team. You will collaborate closely with the Product Owner to analyse requirements, and design and implement technical solutions or processes. Your responsibilities will include developing high-quality, maintainable code, conducting unit testing, continuously improving existing production systems.
  • You'll own the delivery of frontend features from design to delivery, contribute to design discussions and help shape engineering best practise, and collaborate with backend teams to create seamless user experiences.
  • You will also contribute to performance optimisation efforts, ensure technical documentation is accurate and up to date, and work to minimize manual tasks by developing automated solutions.

How you'll do it

  • Architectural & Engineering Contribution: Actively contributing to system architecture discussions, applying design guidance, and upholding best practices in security, quality, and operational excellence within the frontend domain.

  • High-Quality Code & Craftsmanship: Delivering clean, maintainable, and high-quality code, embracing best practices that contribute positively to team standards.

  • Problem Solving & Improvement: Effectively identifying and resolving problems within frontend systems, contributing to removing bottlenecks, and collaborating to build consensus on solutions.

  • Team Collaboration & Growth: Actively developing your own technical skills, supporting colleagues' growth, and contributing to a strong, collaborative, and self-sustaining team environment.

  • User-Centric Operations: Contributing to excellent user support and ensuring frontend system performance meets and enhances user needs.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Unit testing?, As a Software Engineer , it's not just about the technical knowledge. We value (a lot) a strong set of soft skills - being a team player and promoting a healthy environment within your team is just as important. This means that we'll be expecting a strong set of soft skills as well - excellent communication, common sense, collaboration and a passion for the art of problem-solving., * Our product's frontend is built using React, PHP, Node.js, and JavaScript . Experience with these technologies is highly valued. While direct experience with all of them isn't required, familiarity with modern frontend development practices and a willingness to learn is important - and you should be comfortable working with Java in some parts of the stack.

  • Our teams also work with a variety of technologies including Java, TypeScript, AWS, Kafka, Spring, MySQL, and Kubernetes , providing opportunities to collaborate across the stack.
