Job description
As a BMS Design Engineer , you will join our Farnborough team to support our activities within the Energy sector.
You will join our Smart Infrastructure team supporting medium to large-scale Building Management System (BMS) and energy management projects., * Develop complete BMS system designs from initial scope to final documentation and handover.
- Interpret customer specifications to produce comprehensive design and engineering scope packages.
- Produce BMS control strategies, system architecture, and software configuration designs.
- Design control panels, hardware configurations, field device layouts and graphics packages.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces across multi-discipline building systems.
- Support installation, commissioning and project engineering delivery strategies.
- Conduct technical site surveys and pre-sales engineering assessments where required.

Requirements
Do you have experience in System design?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems and plant.
- Proven experience in BMS system design, including:
- Control strategy authoring
- Hardware & software architecture development
- Control panel design
- Software configuration and graphics generation
- Understanding of PLCs, stand-alone controllers and energy/power control systems.
- Experience coordinating BMS disciplines with external suppliers and subcontractors.
- Competent conducting site surveys and working around live plant environments.
- Excellent IT, analytical and complex problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective client and supplier relationships.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider engineering team.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls or Building Services
- Significant industry experience in BMS/control and automation of building systems.
- Willingness to undergo project-specific security screening where required.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with major BMS platforms (e.g. Siemens, Honeywell, Trend or equivalent).
- Experience leading or mentoring a small team of engineers.
- Exposure to energy optimisation and smart building integration projects.
