Job description

Waddle Insurance is expanding and seeking a Junior React Developer with UX/UI awareness to join our Development Team.

This is a growth-oriented role designed for developers who want to rapidly improve their technical, product, and system design skills within a structured engineering environment.

You will work closely with senior engineers and collaborate across front-end and back-end teams to deliver real production systems, including our public website and internal CRM platforms.

The role is hands-on, delivery-focused, and improvement-driven. Strong performers will benefit from a continuous performance and progression framework, enabling clear technical growth and promotion opportunities., Build and maintain front-end applications using React.js and Next.js.

  • Build user-focused interfaces with attention to usability, accessibility, and visual consistency.

  • Contribute to UX/UI design through collaboration, research, and iteration.

  • Translate designs and requirements into practical, maintainable, and responsive solutions.

  • Optimise applications for performance and compatibility across modern devices and browsers.

  • Integrate front-end components with RESTful APIs and back-end services.

  • Write clean, readable, and well-structured code following established best practices.

  • Assist in implementing appropriate security and data protection measures.

  • Debug issues, resolve defects, and contribute to overall application stability.

  • Take part in code reviews and team discussions to improve quality and consistency.

Requirements

Do you have experience in UX?, Working knowledge of React.js and Next.js, including hooks and functional components.

  • Understanding of tanstack query, tanstack tables.

  • Experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+).

  • Good understanding of git/github.

  • Good understanding of vanilla Javascript and CSS.

  • Understanding of front-end best practices, including performance optimisation and web standards.

  • Understanding of system design.

  • Experience creating modular and reusable components.

  • Attention to details.

  • Understanding of accessibility.

  • Familiarity with common state-management approaches such as Context, Redux or Flux.

  • Experience using UX/UI design tools such as Figma, Framer, or Adobe XD.

  • Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive layout techniques.

  • Experience with front-end build tools such as Vite, Babel, Webpack, and NPM.

  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and front-end integration with back-end systems.

  • Experience with React Native is an advantage but not essential.

  • Experience with monorepos (NX) is an advantage but not essential.
