Job description
This Defence Engineering consultancy are looking for Engineers with knowledge of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS), Integrated Product Support (IPS) and Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) to join its expanding Support Engineering business unit. Opportunities available from Graduate to Principal level.
The Support Engineer will provide ILS consultancy to our customers, ensuring equipment is delivered efficiently and to the optimum value, developing through life support solutions. You will gain experience across a diverse range of projects across all domains. This role can be based out of their Cheltenham or Bristol offices although they have adopted a smart / dynamic working policy, so living within commuter distance of the offices is not necessarily required.
Responsibilities to include:
- Deliver ILS and Service Support programmes to ensure ILS requirements are delivered on time, to budget, and to the required quality.
- Perform detailed analytical studies to ensure that the support systems being developed, meet, or exceed the specified support requirements, recommending design changes as appropriate.
- Design and implement ILS programmes including AR&M, Supportability Analysis (SA), Through Life Costing, and Obsolescence management.
- Development and manage Integrated Support Plans and all ILS Element Plans
- Provide support to bids and proposals and represent the company at industry and MOD forums.
- Develop innovation initiatives to support future growth.
Requirements
Depending on the level at which you enter the business, from Graduate to Principal, the following would be desirable:
- An understanding of ILS or IPS for UK Defence Programmes
- Experience in AR&M Analysis, Supportability Analysis, and Through Life Costing
- A technical qualification in an engineering discipline
- Some knowledge of ILS defence standards (including Def Stan 00-600, DLF (JSP886), and ASD S series)
- Working knowledge of design engineering methods and processes (systems engineering)
- Current valid UK SC clearance or willingness to become security cleared.
