Are you interested in solidifying your skills in the above areas and joining a team who have recently migrated to AWS?

Do you have the experience to assist StepChange in the transformation to AWS and all that comes with it? From tech, to process, to modernisation?

We are undertaking multiple large technology transformation projects across our business to revolutionize the way we offer our services, moving from on-premises towards cloud-based solutions.

This newly created position will be integral to enhancing our technical infrastructure and ensuring best-in-class security.

You will work cross-functionally and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the business while working closely with Technology Services colleagues to implement procedural and technical aspects of Security Operations, including liaison and engagement with the MSSP/SOC.

What will you be doing?

In this role, you will play a key role in implementing, optimizing, and maintaining the cloud infrastructure (AWS), ensuring robust performance, high availability, and comprehensive support.

You will also lead on the maintenance of the charity's legacy environments (Windows Server)

This role is ideal for someone driven by the ever-changing world of technology and has a passion for researching and understanding new technologies which may contribute to improved, and cost-effective service provision.

We are looking for people with:

  • Providing operational support and maintenance for our Windows Server estate.

  • Troubleshooting, patching, and managing upgrades to ensure system stability and security

  • Supporting the transition of legacy workloads into modern cloud-native solutions where appropriate

  • Compute & Infrastructure (Essential):
  • Deploying, configuring, and optimising workloads using EC2 and related services
  • Building and managing resilient and highly available infrastructure across multiple AWS regions and availability zones
  • Storage (Essential):
  • Implementing and supporting storage solutions within AWS.
  • Designing data lifecycle policies and ensuring efficient, cost-effective storage usage
  • Networking & Content Delivery (Essential):
  • Configuring and maintaining VPCs, subnets, route tables, Transit Gateways, and VPNs
  • Leveraging CloudFront, Route 53, and API Gateway for secure and scalable content delivery
  • Security & Identity (Essential):
  • Applying best practice security principles using IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, and AWS Organisations
  • Working with the Cyber Security team to embed compliance, monitoring, and governance controls, Working here is rewarding because you're not just doing a job, you're making a genuine positive difference to people when they need it most. Our colleagues help transform the lives of those struggling with debt.

You could be working here as a debt advisor in our busy contact centres across the UK; or you could be working behind the scenes playing a vital part in the smooth running of the charity, for example in Tech Services, Marketing, Human Resources or Finance.

Your development at the charity.

We place a huge emphasis on supporting, developing, and rewarding you throughout your career with us, making sure you have everything you need to help us continue our life-changing work.

Every new starter has a two-day induction to welcome you to the charity. You'll learn about how we work, what we value, what systems we use, and how your role fits into the charity. If you're working in a specialist role, you'll then go to meet your team. If you're working in a client-facing role, you'll join one of our training academies., You'll have access to a wide range of development opportunities so you can continue to learn, develop, and progress, including:
