Job description

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer (m/f/d) who takes technical ownership of our platform end-to-end - from application code to cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will work hands-on with our TypeScript-based platform (Next.js, React) while owning and evolving our AWS environment to ensure scalability, security, and reliability, without slowing down product development. This is not a DevOps-only role. A strong understanding of application architecture, codebases, dependencies, and real-world production challenges is essential to successfully own and improve our platform.

  • You own our AWS cloud platform and work hand in hand with developers and product to shape it into a secure, scalable, and cost-efficient foundation for Ocumeda's growth.
  • You keep our TypeScript CDK Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) up to date to automate provisioning and deployments, ensuring reproducibility and speed.
  • You design and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes and tests that guarantee high availability and reliability of our services.
  • You monitor platform performance, availability, and costs, making data-driven improvements for stability and efficiency.
  • You combine technical security ownership (IAM, networking, data protection) with strategic responsibility for making infrastructure decisions., * Purpose-driven work with real impact: Contribute to one of Central Europe's leading tele-ophthalmology platforms, improving access to eye care in a sustainable way.
  • Stable growth & proven business model: Established B2B2C model with over 780 partner optician locations and 320,000+ screenings conducted.
  • Interdisciplinary work environment: Collaboration with experienced colleagues from optometry, ophthalmology, software & AI development, and strategy consulting.
  • Ownership & responsibility: Autonomous work, varied tasks, and genuine opportunities to actively shape topics and initiatives.
  • Feedback & development culture: Regular, constructive feedback and individual development opportunities.
  • Individual development budget: A personal learning budget you can use flexibly for trainings, courses, conferences, or other professional development activities.
  • Flexible working models: Flexible working hours (Monday-Friday) and the option to work remotely / from home.
  • Wellbeing & mental health: Maximum subsidy for your Wellpass membership.
  • Collaboration & team culture: International team with strong collaboration and regular team events.

Requirements

Do you have experience in TypeScript?, * You enjoy building and improving cloud infrastructure.

  • You have hands-on experience with AWS and Infrastructure-as-Code (ideally TypeScript CDK).
  • You've worked with monitoring, alerting, and incident response tools - and care about reliability as much as scalability.
  • You care about security, compliance, and cost efficiency, and you want to make infrastructure a trusted foundation for product development.
  • You're excited to take ownership in a startup environment, shape processes, and build sustainable structures that scale with the company.
  • You speak fluent English (C1).

Benefits & conditions

  • Competitive compensation: Competitive salary aligned with your role and experience.
  • Central workplace: Modern, dog-friendly office in the heart of Munich, conveniently located near the central station.
