Job description
In this role, you will optimise Azure AKS and AWS EKS Kubernetes clusters, ensuring uptime, security, scalability and performance across secure cloud environments. You will take ownership of infrastructure defined in Terraform, using GitLab CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and maintain consistency across environments. Working closely with stakeholders, you will proactively identify improvements, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to the continuous hardening and resilience of cloud-based systems.
You will also participate in an on-call rota, supporting critical systems and ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. With the backing of experienced colleagues, you will help evolve our protective monitoring capability while maintaining the highest operational standards.
Key responsibilities:

Administer & Optimise Azure AKS and AWS EKS Kubernetes clusters

Develop & Maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform

Automate & Streamline deployments through GitLab CI/CD pipelines

Monitor & Enhance system performance, scalability and security

Troubleshoot & resolve complex platform and infrastructure issues
Requirements
You will bring hands-on experience in Linux-based operational environments and practical expertise managing Kubernetes clusters and infrastructure with Terraform. You should be comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines, supporting cloud-based systems in Azure and AWS, and troubleshooting complex technical issues in secure environments., * Experience working with Linux in an operational environment

Year of hands-on experience using Terraform for infrastructure automation

Experience administering Kubernetes (AKS and/or EKS)

Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab)

Working knowledge of Azure and AWS cloud platforms

Experience with SIEM or large-scale data platforms

Strong problem-solving and incident triage skills
Desirable:

Exposure to the Elastic stack

Scripting experience in Python

Experience supporting applications and end users

Ability to produce clear technical documentation

Relevant certifications (e.g. CKA, RHCSA, Elastic Certified Engineer)

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This role requires onsite presence in Chippenham.
