Core & Foundational Platforms (CFP) is part of the Infrastructure Platforms (IP) organization, responsible for delivering and maintaining an industry-leading technology infrastructure to JPMorgan's Global Technology Group. CFP's mission is to provide seamless integrated solutions across clouds with a consistent, and intuitive user experience. We deliver market-leading multi-cloud technology capabilities centred around developers and business requirements.
As a Principal Architect at JPMorgan Chase within Core and Foundational Platforms, you are an integral part of a team that works to develop high-quality architecture solutions for the platforms that power our business applications. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for developing critical architecture solutions across multiple technical areas within IP in support of our strategy.
Job responsibilities
- Influence the Architecture of multiple product lines -across SaaS vendors and all public and private clouds
- Design and architect scalable, resilient solutions for platforms using modern frameworks.
- Support the design, architecture, and evolution the JPMCs Private cloud, focusing on services integration (workload identity, token exchange and automated firewall management), a uniform platform experience (API standardization and common IAM) and uniform operational characteristics (telemetry, naming, events, inventory) for all Private Cloud products, platforms and services
- Drive for the seamless integration of the Private Cloud with public cloud factories and control planes, enabling true Hybrid and Multi-cloud experiences
- Lead control plane consolidation and resiliency design across Product Lines - fostering collaboration and a culture of inner-sourcing and code sharing between teams
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in architecture/engineering and expert applied experience
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proven Solution Architect experience in infrastructure platforms
- Highly technical strategic thinker - joins dots across multiple different technology stacks
- Has a history of solving complex infrastructure problems with innovative technical solutions, workflows or coding
- Deep knowledge of security best practices
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) as well as private cloud and virtualisation technologies
- Defining NFRs and architectures for availability, extensibility, and resiliency
- Ability to resolve ambiguity and translate target-state architectures into actionable transition plans
- Experience with modelling and enterprise architecture
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AI/ML, LLMs, agentic AI, and generative AI
- AWS/Azure/GCP certifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
