Principal Systems Designer - North America, Canada, Europe - Fully RemoteEscape Velocity is looking for an experienced Principal Systems Designer. You are a master of spreadsheets, possess strong analytical skills, and love the challenge of interpreting large amounts of data to determine the right knobs to turn to give players a fantastic metagame experience.

What we will do together:

Design and iterate on systems across a broad range of key game initiatives, focused on fun and engaging ways for players to spend time and money (e.g., battle passes, monetization frameworks, reward-unlocks, and related features)

Collaborate closely with the Game Director, Design Director, Systems Design Lead, and cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, artists, UX/UI, and data analysts, to develop systems that create best-in-class, player-centric experiences

Proactively design and optimize systems that improve player experiences related to earning and purchasing content, with a focus on healthy long-term engagement and monetization

Champion data-driven design, leveraging analytics, player feedback, and market insights to iterate on systems and enhance the overall player experience

Advocate for the player at all times, putting the player experience first when considering and making all design decisions.

What you will bring:

A can-do attitude that is player oriented; systems design is technical but simplicity is often a player's best friend.

At least two shipped AAA games where you worked in a systems design capacity on initiatives related to player investment, i.e., systems and features supporting how players spend time and money to earn content.

Expert knowledge of off-the-shelf design tools, and expertise with Unreal Engine (UE5 preferred).

Professional understanding of the many major metagame systems found in contemporary multiplayer titles, and a keen know-how for how those systems work.

Mentorship skills that include truly caring about the career growth of those who work for you and around you.

Strong creative and technical problem-solving skills.

Exceptional communication skills.
