Job description
We are seeking an experienced C#/.NET Developer to join a high-performing delivery team working on business-critical systems within a major UK energy trading environment. This role sits within a globally recognised Microsoft-focused consultancy delivering into a large-scale trading and commodities platform. You will be contributing to the design, build, and optimisation of high-availability Back End services supporting fast-paced trading operations.
This is a hands-on Back End engineering role within a modern Azure-based microservices architecture., * Design, develop, and maintain Back End services using C# and .NET
- Build and enhance microservices and RESTful APIs
- Develop cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Service Bus)
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
- Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and performance-optimised
- Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams across distributed stakeholders
- Contribute to architecture discussions and technical decision-making
- Support production releases and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in C#/.NET Back End development
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Hands-on experience with Azure services (App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Service Bus)
- CI/CD pipeline experience using Azure DevOps
- Strong knowledge of performance optimisation and secure coding practices
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery models
Desirable
- Experience within trading, commodities, or financial services environments
- Exposure to high-throughput, low-latency systems
- Experience working in regulated or enterprise-scale environments
