Job description
As a Cyber Security & Functional Safety Engineer (m/f/d) for the Compact Business Unit (CBU) you will contribute to the new development of Compact Wheel Loaders and Compact Excavators as well as to ongoing product maintenance activities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams at the local sites and across other locations.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:
- Own and drive the CBU Product Cyber Security direction and roadmap, aligned with global inputs and strategic guidance to support the development and life cycle management of CBU products
- Creation, analysis, and documentation of relevant Product Cyber Security requirements for E&E systems, based on state-of-the-art risk mitigation, in close cooperation with Product Platform and Aftermarket
- Ensure the compliance and quality of the E&E systems and subsystems according to applicable specifications and standards, addressing Product Cyber Security and Functional Safety risks
- Collaborate with local Functional Safety Engineers to define the CBU Functional Safety strategy and processes
- Contribute to the planning and coordination of local CBU Functional Safety activities
- Act as the primary point of contact for project teams, both internally and externally, within the domain of Product Cyber Security
- Support and lead general risk assessment activities, including HARA and FMEA
- Enable and promote effective knowledge transfer and management within this field
- Active participation in relevant VCE forums as a subject-matter representative of the CBU
Your future team
From the first concept through serial production and into the product lifecycle, the Compact Business Unit (CBU). Electric and Electronic Systems teams for Compact Wheel Loaders and Compact Excavators are responsible for the complete E&E design, architecture, and strategy of their products. This includes the consistent consideration of quality, Functional Safety, Product Cyber Security, environmental requirements, as well as global laws and regulations.
The position is organizationally embedded within the Electric and Electronic team at either Konz or Belley site, while being operationally assigned to the CBU.

Requirements
- A university degree in electrical or mechatronic engineering
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a strong team orientation and the willingness to share knowledge and continuously develop yourself
- Specialist knowledge of Product Cyber Security and Functional Safety
- Sound skills in E&E System Engineering
- A high sense of responsibility and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics
- Expertise in E-Mobility and/or construction machinery is an advantage
- Good written and spoken English knowledge
