Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Engineer to join our EMEA AE team. GF Application Engineers support the design process of GF customers from design start to tape-out ensuring that customers can design efficiently high-quality volume products to GF technologies.
The successful candidate will apply prior design, design enablement and technology expertise to the resolution of technical, design-oriented customer cases, customer training and onboarding, design debugging, and guidance on technology selection and architecture definition.
This role requires a strong technical design background, the ability to manage complex customer interactions as well as working with external partners and internal technical teams across organization boundaries.
Your Job
- Technical Case Response: Drive technical, design-oriented customer cases to resolution working with internal technology, PDK, IP and design methodology teams, but also potentially interact with external, 3rd party IP and EDA SW providers.
- Customer Training and Onboarding: Develop and deliver comprehensive training and onboarding material for customers, ensuring they are well-equipped to use GF products and solutions.
- Design Debugging: Provide expert support in debugging design issues, working closely with customers to identify and resolve problems.
- Technology Guidance: Offer guidance on technology selection and architecture definition to help customers make informed decisions.
- PPA Solutions: Address Performance, Power, and Area (PPA) requests from customers, providing tailored solutions to meet their needs.
- Customer Tapeouts: Support customer tapeouts, ensuring that all technical aspects are addressed effectively.
- Mentorship: Mentor and train junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields with several years of relevant experience in Digital or AnalogMixedSignal (AMS) back-end design RTL/Schematic to GDS including physical and electrical design verification.
- Expert, hands-on user of IC design environment/ enablement flows, preferably using Cadence EDA software tools and flows (choose at least one...)
- Digital RTL2GDS implementation (Synthesis, Place&Route, Design Finishing) and verification (STA, EMIR, physical verification)
- AMS Virtuoso, Spice simulation, Monte-Carlo simulation and variation analysis, reliability verification, physical verification.
- IP design creation, focus on view generation and IP integration verification. Knowledge in generation of advanced IP views for variation and reliability
- Understanding of SoC architecture and design concepts and requirements.
- Experience in the design for Automotive, IoT, Connectivity or AI products and knowledge of the system and quality requirement of these product categories.
- Experience in design bring-up and debugging.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Fluent in English (at least C1).
