Job description

Global Operations Shared Services (GOSS) Tech's mission is to create the infrastructure, data foundation, and operational frameworks that enable Global Operations to scale efficiently and make faster, better decisions. We measure ourselves by the impact we have on:

  • Reducing cycle time
  • Improving capital efficiency
  • Ensuring compliance excellence
  • Accelerating capability development across the organization

At GOSS Tech, we are technically excellent, operationally disciplined, and relentlessly focused on what creates real value. We embrace a culture of experimentation - some investments will work brilliantly, some won't. We learn from both and keep moving forward.

Our Mental Model: The Developer Mindset

At the core of how GOSS Tech thinks and operates is a mental model we call the Developer Mindset. It guides how we prioritize, make tradeoffs, and act with speed while maintaining a high bar. It means:

  • Working ahead of demand and looking around corners
  • Taking ownership for outcomes, not just tasks
  • Creating long-term value and flexibility
  • Using data to make informed decisions
  • Solving problems rather than stopping at constraints
  • Intentionally shaping what comes next, not simply responding to what is needed now

About the Team: Forecast & Build

Within GOSS Tech, the Forecast & Build team manages cost forecasting, project execution, and program management. We own the critical transition from design to physical reality across our global footprint. Our systems and tools are the backbone that ensures capital projects are planned, tracked, and delivered with precision at scale.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer / Tech Lead to join the Forecast & Build team within GOSS Tech and play a pivotal role in designing, building, and scaling the software systems that power our global operations infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for working on behalf of teams and customers, have a track record of on-time delivery of large-scale projects, and possess the ability to operate independently and autonomously. This is a unique opportunity to build, scale, and shape the direction of a critical business function from the ground up.

This role requires deep technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and strong business judgment. You will be responsible for services that are built and deployed globally, delivering an exceptional customer experience. You will provide thought leadership in a fast-paced development environment and partner with product management and senior leaders to ensure the success of this program., Architect & Design: Lead the architecture and design of new and existing systems within GOSS Tech, including design patterns, reliability, scalability, and performance optimization

  • Build & Deliver: Drive full software development lifecycle execution - from coding standards and code reviews to source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Lead & Mentor: Serve as a technical leader and mentor to engineering team members, raising the bar on technical excellence and engineering culture across GOSS Tech
  • Operate at Scale: Own the reliability and operational health of globally deployed, highly concurrent, high-throughput systems
  • Partner Cross-Functionally: Collaborate with product management, program management, and senior leadership across GOSS Tech and Global Operations to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
  • Drive the Developer Mindset: Work ahead of demand, use data to inform decisions, take ownership of outcomes, and proactively shape the future of our systems and processes
  • Innovate Continuously: Identify opportunities to reduce cycle time, improve capital efficiency, and accelerate capability development through technology

A day in the life This is a hands-on position in which you will own everything from end to end: requirements gathering, designs, design reviews, implementations, code reviews, incremental feature launches, operations, mentoring, and the driving of continuous improvement. A successful candidate will have a deep technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, an interest in developing software, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. You should be comfortable diving deep into technical architectures and requirements, be able to quickly identify solutions to challenges discovered during development, and ready to work with some of the latest cloud computing technology.
