Job description

To strengthen our engaged IT team in BeNeLux and the respective global unit we seek for an experienced "Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer". As part of the country cluster "North Europe" the team is partially responsible for IT services in our various locations in BeNeLux, spanning from office sites to production plants. This position ensures the efficient deployment, operation, and maintenance of all local IT infrastructure enabling the business to perform their operations sustainably. As member of a global unit you will work in a team of infrastructure specialists and engineers. This position can be based in either Diegem (BE) or Hoofddorp (NL)., * Design, implement, administer, and support infrastructure technologies / solutions in compliance with local & global framework, especially to avoid Cyber Security Risks.

  • Act as local Service Coordinator / Integrator between the involved external and internal parties, ensuring a seamless collaboration with colleagues in our production and R&D sites.
  • Take input from stakeholders and establish solutions that facilitate the achievement of business objectives.
  • Initiate and monitor actions to investigate patterns and trends to resolve problems and effectively consult other specialists where required.
  • Take ownership and act as project manager for large scale infrastructure projects, such as new business locations, infrastructure expansion projects, upgrades to latest global standards.
  • Perform Change Management primarily for the entire local organization, nevertheless always with a holistic perspective of the entire set of countries.
  • Manage the local infrastructure tasks and activities, which includes establishing and maintaining the respective documentation.
  • Closely collaborate with the cluster Cyber Security Manager in any audit related activities and take ownership for the mitigation of identified findings.
  • Use scripting to automate common infrastructure management and operational tasks.

Requirements

Do you have experience in VMware?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and extensive experience (7+) in infrastructure engineering or a similar role

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English and Dutch
  • Possess professional operational and maintenance skills and knowledge in several infrastructure areas, especially for networks (LAN & WLAN), Firewalls, Servers, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud as well as virtualization technologies
  • Basic knowledge on Storage & SAN solutions, VMware ESXi platform, Windows server + client OS, AD + GPO, VDI, Client & Server Hardware
  • General overview on other IT domains (in particular "Digital Workplace" and "Application Operations" ) and the related processes as well as in manufacturing environments
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale infrastructure projects and leading technical teams
  • Strong change-, incident-, and project management skills
  • Solution and target oriented working approach complemented by good analytical and documentation skills
  • Good intercultural skills as well as international (virtual) collaboration skills and interest
  • Flexible working approach, also related to traveling which is a regular part of the job and may occur on weekly basis
  • Strong and active teamplayer with a solid level of self motivation and sense of ownership & accountability
