Job description
We are hiring a full time Firmware Engineer to take ownership of the embedded firmware of our medical devices. You will take ownership of key components and build production-grade performance-critical firmware that is safe, robust, and efficient. You will work closely with hardware and software teams to design and refine firmware under technical and safety constraints in a regulated MedTech environment. Your work directly influences device reliability, signal quality, and safe behavior, shaping the performance and daily experience of people using our devices.
Your Main Tasks
-
Take ownership of key firmware components and contribute to our performance-critical firmware architecture while developing production-grade firmware in C
-
Build robust sensing pipelines from drivers to firmware application logic under safety and performance constraints
-
Implement secure and reliable device communication and connectivity
-
Establish automated testing and tooling to maintain firmware quality across the stack
-
Debug and optimize at the hardware-firmware boundary, including performance/power tuning, understanding datasheets and schematics/PCB, and using oscilloscope/logic analyzer, Tech Stack and Domain: embedded C, firmware drivers, interrupts, power optimization, sensing pipeline, connectivity, device security, CI, automated testing, wearable devices
Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications
-
Hands-on experience building safety- and performance-critical embedded firmware in C for deployed or production-intent systems (e.g. drivers, fault handling, timing constraints)
-
Strong embedded fundamentals (e.g. interrupts, drivers, timing, power optimization, sensing pipelines, filtering)
-
Experience implementing reliable device communication (e.g. reliable streaming, connection stability), ideally with security in mind
-
Experience with structured engineering practices such as automated testing, CI, profiling, and hardware-level debugging
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
-
Experience in embedded AI / on-device inference / edge-level data interpretation
-
Experience with modern embedded frameworks
-
Experience with wearables or body-signal-based systems
-
Experience in a regulated MedTech environment, Related roles: Embedded Firmware Engineer, Embedded Systems Engineer, Firmware Developer, Embedded Software Engineer
