Reporting to the Lead Durability Analysis Engineer, the CAE Durability Analysis Engineer will be based at the McLaren testing facility within the Idiada proving ground in Spain, and should expect to travel occasionally overseas, principally for the purposes of supporting data acquisition activities. What You'll Do
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Set up and execute static and dynamic ADAMS simulations that accurately predict chassis and powertrain operational loads.
· Set up and execute nCode and Simulink based simulations to create accelerated durability duty cycles for system and components.
· Support the analysis of real world vehicle use (mileage, failures in service, etc.) to define high level durability requirements (mileage, manoeuvres, environmental conditions, etc.) and vehicle test profiles.
· Support the definition of fatigue KPIs to quantify the fatigue accumulated by vehicle components during durability testing.
· Automation of routine tasks using Python and MATLAB scripts.
· Work with the different design groups through durability issues root cause analysis and countermeasures validation.
Requirements
· Good knowledge of high-performance vehicles HW and SW systems.
· Excellent working knowledge of ADAMS or other MBS software.
· Good working experience knowledge of test data processing software (nCode) and programming languages (Python, MATLAB, Simulink, etc).
· Must have excellent analytical skills, with experience in applying a range of data analysis techniques.
· Excellent knowledge of statistics, reliability and durability theories.
· Familiar with databases such as SQL and data visualization tools such as PowerBi or Tableau is advantageous.
· Familiar with automotive data acquisition systems and diagnostic tools is advantageous.
· Ability to write and speak clearly to easily communicate complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand. What You'll Bring, · Passion for the automotive technology and data analysis.
