Data Platform Lead

We're looking for a Data Platform Lead to drive the evolution of our data platform and lead a high-performing team of data engineers. Reporting to the Head of Architecture, Engineering & Data, you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling our data platform to support critical business functions across the enterprise.

This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic platform development, ensuring our data infrastructure grows with the business while maintaining the highest standards of reliability and performance., * Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering technical excellence and innovation.

• Drive adoption of best practices in data engineering and data analytics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Establish technical standards and architectural guidelines for the data platform.
• Develop comprehensive data modelling frameworks and governance protocols.
• Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity frameworks.
• Balance competing stakeholder expectations while maintaining platform roadmap focus.
• Manage platform capacity planning and cost optimisation initiatives.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Champion data quality initiatives and automated testing frameworks.
• Understand batch and streaming data ingestion patterns.
• Deliver projects across complex technical initiatives with strong project planning and execution skills.

Do you have experience in SQL?, * Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.

• 8+ years' experience in data platform development and big data technologies.
• Hands-on experience with PySpark and SQL.
• Deep experience with Databricks on AWS/Azure cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of medallion architecture and modern data Lakehouse patterns.
• Expertise in data modelling and governance frameworks for enterprise environments.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to deliver results in complex environments.
• Financial services experience is a plus.
