Backend Developer

As a Senior Backend Developer for our client in Amsterdam you'll join a compact, international backend team. The team develops key functionality that helps customers understand and manage their personal finances, including spending categorisation and fixed-cost insights. You'll work closely with internal engineering teams, a dedicated frontend team and external fintech partners. Your Job You'll build and enhance backend services and APIs that support a large user base. The environment combines Python-based Azure Functions, FastAPI services and Java Spring applications. The team works with event-driven patterns using Azure Service Bus and Kafka, all running in Azure Cloud with a mix of serverless and containerised setups.

• 5+ years of experience with Python and/or Java
• Strong API development experience (Python or Java Spring)
• Comfortable working across multiple teams and external vendors
• Proactive, analytical mindset with a focus on improvement
• Experience with FastAPI
• Familiarity with Azure Cloud services
