Agentic Data Alchemist (AI Data Scientist)

We're not hiring a traditional data scientist.

We're looking for:

Half human intuition. Half machine leverage. Running parallel code paths. Deploying agents to explore solution spaces while you sleep.

Swap is building a fully agentic, end-to-end AI Storefront, from search and personalization to outfit creation, virtual try-on, checkout, payments, returns, shipping, refunds, and support.

You'll join our Agentic squad, working alongside five AI and data science professionals to refine, scale, and evolve the intelligence layer behind our agentic storefront. This is a senior-level, high-agency generalist role for someone who can move fluidly across models, agents, experimentation, and product decisions - and ship fast in a startup environment., * Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and the Agentic team to optimize AI-driven features across the full commerce journey

• Design and improve recommendation and personalisation systems using behavioral and transactional data
• Enhance conversational agents, multi-agent flows, and tool integrations
• Iterate on virtual try-on and vision systems through prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and model chaining
• Rapidly prototype new AI capabilities and evolve them into production-grade systems
• Build and refine experimentation frameworks (A/B testing, evaluation pipelines, benchmarking)
• Improve conversion, retention, and operational efficiency through applied ML
• Identify automation opportunities and design agent-powered internal tooling
• Contribute to shaping the evolving intelligence architecture of our agentic commerce platform

Do you have experience in TypeScript?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field

• 5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or software engineering
• 2+ years of direct experience building AI-powered systems (LLMs, recommendation engines, conversational AI, generative models, ranking systems, or vision models)
• Strong Python skills (required) with experience deploying AI systems into production
• Experience working in or alongside TypeScript/JavaScript environments (strong plus but not essential)
• Proven ability to rapidly prototype and iterate in startup or high-velocity product teams
• Experience with modern AI tooling (LLMs, multimodal models, vector databases, orchestration frameworks)
• Comfortable working across backend logic, model evaluation, prompt engineering, and product strategy
• High ownership mindset with the ability to operate autonomously
