Job description
We're looking for a Senior Front-End Engineer with a track record in building complex applications. The ideal candidate is someone who has contributed to products over multiple releases and shipped software as an individual contributor or technical lead in a high performing team. At Artsy, you'll help build and expand the tools used by our gallery partners to sell their inventory, tailor their presence, and operate their businesses.
You'll be part of Artsy's Engineering organization, working on a cross-functional product team responsible for partner-facing experiences. This team builds and maintains the tools galleries rely on day-in and -out. You'll collaborate closely with Product Management, Design, and Data partners, and report to an Engineering Manager. The team values steady iteration, shared ownership, and building quality systems that partners can rely on every day.
What You'll Do at Artsy
- Design, build, and maintain partner-facing web applications that support seller workflows and gallery operations.
- Own front-end features from early discovery through launch and iteration across multiple releases.
- Collaborate closely with product and design partners to translate complex requirements into intuitive, usable interfaces.
- Actively contribute to Artsy's design system by building and improving shared components and patterns.
- Help ensure the design system remains accessible, well-documented, and aligned with both product and engineering needs.
- Improve application quality through testing, performance tuning, accessibility improvements, and data-informed decisions.
Requirements
- You have experience building and maintaining production front-end web applications, particularly tools used by professional or internal users.
- You enjoy working on product features that support real user workflows and evolve over time.
- You have experience collaborating with designers and engineers on shared component libraries or design systems, and are excited to help evolve them.
- You've collaborated closely with product and design partners to shape workflows and long-lived systems.
- You care about enabling frequent, reliable releases and have contributed to improving testing, tooling, or deployment workflows.
- You are excited to use AI tools to boost productivity and impact your team's outcomes.
- You have experience with large-scale, long-lived React codebases.
- You have experience selecting and working with web testing frameworks.

It's a plus if you...
- Have worked on data-intensive applications serving power users such as Content Management Systems, Inventory Management Systems, Customer Relationship Management Tools.
- Have a background in marketplaces or e-commerce.
- Have experience working with Relay and GraphQL APIs.
- Have exposure to mobile or React Native development, even if your primary focus is web.
