Job description
In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of Azure and DevOps engineers, taking ownership of platform health, operational stability and continuous service improvement. You will remain hands-on, designing scalable and secure Azure architectures while driving automation-first practices through Infrastructure as Code and optimised CI/CD pipelines. By embedding strong governance, monitoring and cost management controls, you will ensure platforms remain resilient, high-performing and aligned to client needs.
You will oversee incident response, guide root cause analysis and implement preventative improvements, working closely with stakeholders to maintain transparency and trust. Through technical leadership and collaboration, you will strengthen engineering capability while shaping the evolution of enterprise Azure environments within a managed services model., * Lead & Mentor - Guide and develop a high-performing Azure/DevOps team.

Design & Architect - Create scalable, secure Azure solutions (IaaS, PaaS, networking, identity).

Automate & Optimise - Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and enhance CI/CD pipelines.

Operate & Improve - Oversee platform health, incident management and service improvement.

Monitor & Govern - Embed security, compliance, performance and cost optimisation practices.

Collaborate & Communicate - Engage stakeholders and provide clear technical leadership.
Requirements
To succeed, you will bring strong hands-on Azure platform expertise combined with proven technical leadership experience within cloud or managed services environments. You will be confident driving DevOps maturity, implementing Infrastructure as Code and leading teams through operational challenges while maintaining a focus on security, performance and continuous improvement.
Essential qualifications:

Strong experience across Azure IaaS, PaaS, networking and identity services.

Proven experience leading technical cloud or managed services teams.

Expertise in CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar).

Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).

Strong troubleshooting, incident management and stakeholder communication skills.

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you must hold Security Check (SC) clearance or be eligible to obtain it. Whilst this is a hybrid position you should expect to work on client site in Nottingham for 2/3 days a week as required.
