Job description
As part of PaaS Windows Server Team, this role will collaborate with technology and project teams to ensure that change within our environment is managed effectively. The core aspect of your role will cover the 3^rd line support of Microsoft Active Directory which is at the heart of the enterprise services delivered by Virgin Money to internal and external customers. A good understanding of Microsoft Active Directory (AD) is key. The ideal candidate will have experience in configuring, managing and troubleshooting all aspects of AD including knowledge of best practice recovery processes from disaster recovery scenarios. You will also support and manage the Windows Server Physical and Virtual Infrastructure. Vulnerability Management, Security update scheduling, GPO and deployment of updates to the Windows server estate is a key part of the role, so experience in this area is expected. Alongside support requirements, you will work as part of larger project delivery teams, to deliver new services and enhance existing services. Your role will span across the entire project lifecycle including (but not be limited to) design influence, infrastructure build, test environment support and implementation deliverables and support. - Working closely with other Technology staff and 3^rd parties
- Collaborating with project teams to ensure that change within the environment is managed and controlled effectively.
- 3^rd line support of Microsoft Active Directory and other enterprise services delivered to Virgin Money internal and external customers.
- Manage the patching lifecycle, including scheduling, deployment, and verification.
- The role holder will have a level of responsibility for identifying, analysing, quantifying, and communicating technical risk within the banks on premise & cloud platforms.
- The role may require occasional evening or weekend work for patch deployment, system upgrades\changes.
- Working closely with 1^st and 2^nd tier support teams to deliver a professional effective enterprise support offering.

Requirements

A good understanding of the best practices of installing, configuring and managing Microsoft Active Directory and its key components - TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, GPO, etc.

Experience in IT security, system administration, or a similar role with a focus on security patch management and system upgrades

Experience supporting Windows Server Operating System (Install, Configure, Manage)

Demonstrated experience using MS Failover Clustering (Install, Configure, Manage)

Demonstrated experience administering SCCM (Install, Configure, Manage) & SCOM

Understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, and system optimisation

Experience of working in a highly governed and controlled IT environment It's a bonus if you have but not essential

Possess Microsoft Certification relating to Active Directory

Experience of extending Microsoft Active Directory into the cloud

Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive change in a collaborative manner.

Experience of Opentext Identity Manager.
